Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress, and songwriter for many years. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by a lot of Americans. It was in her ninth year that she started to feel more confident after receiving a rousing ovation in an audition. This experience did not just help the confidence of her, but also altered the direction she was heading in her life. At 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. But her biggest break came when she starred in the part of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway show Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC the show, she received more recognition. She is known as a performer and also released a single and an extended play. In her role as an activist, she works tirelessly to promote LGBT equality.
