Ali MacGraw
Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is an American animal rights advocate, writer also a model, actor and author. Her work has received acclaim for films like Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) and The Getaway, (1972). She was raised by an artistic family in New York and wanted to take up a profession in the field of art. Her first job was as a photo assistant later moved into modeling and acting. In her first two films she received recognition and was awarded the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Young Actress. MacGraw quickly became famous after the 1970 hit film Love Story. She was nominated for an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe. After only three movies MacGraw was named as the top female performer at the box office in history. Her handprints, autograph and footprints were immortalized in 1972 at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. Alongside The Getaway Convoy Players she played a part in the tv show The Winds of War. Moving Pictures, her 1991 autobiography, came out. MacGraw was married three times.
